Regional Minister inspects developmental projects in Ho

The Ho Municipality has seen many projects as the government moves to expand passages and other public utilities to fit the fast-evolving city.

As part of a weeklong region-wide tour, Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, has inspected works on key physical developmental projects in the Ho municipality. The Regional Minister, who led the various heads of the regional administration on the inspection tour, visited the Ho Central Market expansion project, which is adding on some 150 modern stores and a unique indoor shopping experience.

The project is being funded by the World Banks’s secondary city programme, which is also remodelling bus terminals, sanitary facilities and a Mosque.

The Regional Minister also paid a visit to the reconstruction of the Amegashie Bridge, a project also funded by the secondary city programme, and which would open up a water passage that had become famous for sweeping away vehicles during its flooding sessions.

Dr Letsa met with Members and staff of the Assembly after the visits and commended their effort, particularly that of the newly appointed MCE.He reassured the Assembly of the support of the regional coordinating council and said the performance contract between the two must be delivered on for the development of the Municipality.

The Regional Minister asked to maintain strictly the principles of public service and endeavour to maintain a corruption-free environment at all times.He also appealed to maintain public participation in the governance process to maintain trust in the governance structure.

Mr Divine Bosson extolled staff of the Assembly as the “best” management team in the country and said they were “united, poised to action” and “ready to push the policies of Government.” “We will do that until Ho is fully developed,” he stated.
