Members of the Akatsi North District Assembly in the Volta Region have finally endorsed Mr Simon Peter Kofi Ofosu as the new District Chief Executive (henceforth, DCE).
The confirmation exercise, which was held at the Assembly hall saw the President’s nominee out of the total number of 18 members of the assembly, receiving 13 votes and 4 votes against with one rejected representing 72.2 %.
His confirmation follows some failed attempts by members of the Assembly to confirm Mr Prosper Patu and Mr Paul Agbeshi Ayrah who were all separately nominated earlier by the President to serve in the position of a DCE.
DCE.Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister who witnessed the exercise, earlier in his address appealed to members of the assembly to endorse the President’s nominee for rapid development of the District.
Mr Peter Ofosu, in his victory address, expressed appreciation to the assembly members and all who contributed to his successful confirmation process and also called for unity and love for one another in the area.
Meanwhile, the recent nominee for the position of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Adaklu, Mrs Juliana Kpedekpo in the Volta Region suffered rejection during a confirmation process, getting 9 votes out of the 19 members of assembly present.
