Concern Volta Citizens Education Fund awards scholarship to 15 tertiary students

Concern Volta Citizens Education fund (CVC Edufund) awarded fifteen (15) fresh tertiary students with scholarship, including four (4) girls from the Volta Region in Ghana.

The concerned Volta Citizens Education Fund (CVCEduFund) is a registered NGO group of Ghanaian citizens from the Volta Region of Ghana living at home and abroad, concerned with the high cost of University Education in Ghana, that inhibits poor but brilliant Voltarian kids from furthering their education, have come together to address this problem using a registered NGO-Concerned Volta Citizens Education Fund (CVC EduFund).

As of January 2022, the pioneering members have sponsored the second group of brilliant by needy students from the Volta region to offerdifferent programmes such as Engineering,Agriculture, AdministrationEconomics, communication, pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing.

According to the Executive Director of Concern Volta Citizens Education fund, Mr. Charles Nornoo at the award ceremony, emphasize that, many students were challged with how to finance their Education beyond the secondary level, but they don’t have the resources “we believe that helping brilliant but needy children is one of the best legacies we can leave for our region”.

He continued that, out of one hundred and twenty (120) applications, in all, were processed out of which the fifteen (15) recipients were short listed for the award after a rigorous selection through the criteria.Mr Charles Nornoo noted that, the main objective of the project is to enhance the human resource pool within the Volta region in Ghana, “because there are several people who has good grades but does not have resources to attend to Universities”.

He continued that, out of one hundred and twenty (120) applications, in all, were processed out of which the fifteen (15) recipients were short listed for the award after a rigorous selection through the criteria.Mr Charles Nornoo noted that, the main objective of the project is to enhance the human resource pool within the Volta region in Ghana, “because there are several people who has good grades but does not have resources to attend to Universities”.

Some of the recipients who completed school in 2019 but staved home because their parents could not afford their education, told very emotional stories of their financial challenges.
